Digital video

Digital videos are a great tool to use in a classroom to give different people's perspective on a subject. It also can be an easier way to grab the attention of students since they are so used to the use of technology in their everyday lives.

For this project, I used iMovie to create a montage of different clips from birthday celebrations I've recorded over the years. I used it to give visual representation of the topic I was teaching about. I would use this short video in class to introduce the topic of birthday and would likely have students further examine the traditions other cultures do for their birthday. Even though the videos themself are not visually the best quality, the collection of almost vintage like clips adds to the point that birthdays are a timeless celebration that would only be documented for personal reasons. I like how the montage of videos is like looking into someone else's life.
