Digital Photo essay

For This project, I based all of my images on different forms of texture. In an art class it is important to have different visual images to represent the topic in class. I have done something similar in a class when I was a student, and the teacher has images like mine that she used to explain the class different options for texture and giving drawings dimension. I collected these images over the last week, utilizing objects i found outdoors and inside.

Texture can be shown in nature as well. I could have students find things similar to this tree and try to replicate it's pattern into their sketchbook

I found these sponges below in one of the art studio's on campus and I liked how the sponge on top differs from the bottom one. Being able to observe the differences between them could be a fun activity in class too.

This plant represents a way to draw and shade a 3d object onto paper. Allowing students to use something like this as a reference can improve their skills.
